The Sawyer House

The original house from the original location in Round Rock, Texas was moved to this spot in Kingsland, Texas in about 7 pieces. The house was then opened up as a restaurant called "The Junction House" with a refurbished look while still resembling the same house quite a bit. My visit here was quite the experience and a memory I'll never forget.

Update - Reports as of August 2012 say that this place is closed for business. I'm sure glad I went there when I did. Worth a trip just to look at the house? I think so.

Update - The house/restaurant reopened sometime in later 2013 as "The Grand Central Cafe" and I made a 2nd visit. Food is better then the previous owners. Restaurant is definitely more on the fancy side, but reasonably priced. Also, they didn't seem to support the fact that TCM was filmed there, but nobody can change the fact that it was.

The old road where the original location of the house used to be called Quick Hill Rd. Unfortunately, there was someone working on the property and is no trespassing, so this will be the closest I get to the original location. Not like there's much to see anyways.
Address: On Hesters Crossing Road and 172. To the right of the apartments on Hester's Crossing.
